Revenue Secretariat

The Board of Revenue was set up in 1864 and supervised directly and controlled the revenue administration formed in 1864 A.D., in the government territories. Besides this, The Board of Revenue was incharge of Agriculture, Commerce, Customs Excise and Public Works Departments which looked after repair of roads and small tanks. But in 1868 the Board of Revenue was dissolved and Sadr Mahkuma-i-Malguzari, was created the Board of Revenue was again constituted in 1883 A.D. with three members namely a Secretary and two Assistant Secretaries. Finally, in 1885 again Board of Revenue was abolished and its members were designated and posted as subedars, the same arrangement continued till the y ear 1894 A.D. The third time the Board of Revenue was created which worked till 1901. It was finally abolished and the Revenue Department was brought under the Director General of Revenue was created and instantly amalgamated with the office of the Revenue Secretary to the Government. Secretary as link for communication and control on establishment between the Revenue departments and the Minister of Revenue has continued till recently.
